SOAA'08 is an international workshop held within The 2008 Software Engineering Research and Practice. SOAA '08 is a forum that brings together researchers and practitioners interested in different aspects of service oriented architectures and it's applications in the software industry. The workshop seeks to act as a conduit for the presentation of novel approaches used in software architectures (from the hardware layer to the higher software layers) as well as their application to research and industry.

Service-Oriented Architecture is an architectural style of building software applications that promotes loose coupling between components. Increasing interconnections among businesses have created a demand for services that have published contracts/interfaces, can be dynamically discovered and are interoperable. SOA appears to be the most appropriate technique for satisfying this need. In addition, SOA also provides methods to allow applications of different generation to interact with each other and coexist.

However, SOA with its emphasis on loose coupling has thrown up many challenges which need to be overcome before it can become a standard method for architecting enterprise applications. To enable this, it is necessary to foster discussion and dissemination of new ideas among experts in software engineering and practitioners.

You are invited to submit a draft paper of about 5-8 pages. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
