NIIT Technologies has acquired German-based SofTec GmbH , a specialist revenue accounting and operation solutions provider addressing the airlines segment. Softec’s IT solutions and services have found a fit in around 40 small-to-medium airlines operating out of Europe, Africa and Asia. This acquisition has greatly strengthened NIIT Technologies’ portfolio of offerings for the Travel, Transportation and Logistics vertical and positioned it among the top five vendors in this space. The new company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NIIT Technologies Ltd, India.


NIIT Technologies acquired ROOM Solutions of the UK in 2006-07, to emerge as a leading player in the country’s Insurance market. By providing NIIT Technologies traction in the commercial insurance niche in the UK, ROOM is also helping the Indian major address the larger opportunity in the European continent.
